What is expected of you?

  • Draft and review internal and external company policies to ensure compliance with the legal requirements
  • Negotiate with internal & counterparty legal, commercial, and procurement teams
  • Advise the organisation on compliance and regulatory requirements, and appropriate intellectual property protection measures that are affecting the business
  • Create standard contract templates to prepare agreements such as subcontracts, consultancy, agency and reseller agreement
  • Manage disputes when they arise and provide resolution advise
  • Carry out periodical risk assessments and ensure that the company is prepared for regulatory challenges and risks
  • Report to various company departments as required and provide regular progress reports to the senior management as required
  • Be the point of contact for daily contractual reviews and negotiations
  • Represent the company in litigation with the government regulatory authorities and other fora as necessary
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders and ensure a good relationship with them

 

What are you expected to bring?

  • Master’s degree or a doctorate degree in Law
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a commercial lawyer or similar
  • Fluency in both Maltese and English language
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Excellent reporting skills as well as can work within set timeframes
  • Have strong attention to detail and must demonstrate commercial acumen
  • Able to manage multiple tasks while working independently
  • Highly meticulous with outstanding problem-solving skills
