What is expected of you?

  • Be responsible for the Risk Management function, reporting to the CEO and the Risk and Compliance Committee
  • Identify, analyze, and measure risks and record the findings in a risk register
  • Advise management on ways to mitigate risks and improve processes and procedures
  • Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment (ICARA) preparation and review
  • Raise risk awareness and assign accountability to department heads to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their area of the business
  • Liaise with the Compliance Officer and Finance manager on MFSA requirements and develop reports when needed
  • Plan, design, and implement the overall risk management process and both Financial and Non-Financial framework
  • Carry out regular reviews of the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Liaise with MFSA on any topics related to risk
  • Liaise with the MLRO on various matters but also with internal and external auditors
  • Supervise the outsourced trading operations team to ensure monitoring of intra-data trades, database, and data-feed connectivity
  •  Recommending and setting internal risk controls for the day-to-day management of the business.]
  • Provide support, education, and training to the staff to build risk awareness
  • Implement health and safety procedures
  • Additional reporting and analysis as requested by management

 

What are you expected to bring?

  • A minimum of nine continuous years’ experience in Internal Control functions
  • Experience in risk management roles in the financial services industry, preferably within the investment services sector
  • Degree in Economics, Banking, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Strong team-playing skills coupled with the ability to meet demanding deadlines
  • Good report writing skills
  • Meticulous individual, very attentive to detail and with superb organization skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to be efficient in stressful situations
