Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven IT Systems Administrator to join their team in Malta. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the company’s IT systems and infrastructure. This role requires a proactive and customer-focused individual who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the IT function to ensure minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
  • Perform system administration tasks on Windows Server and Office 365 environment.
  • Manage network, server, telephony, Wi-Fi, CCTV, and access control systems.
  • Provide advice on current infrastructure, software, systems, and other IT-related services.
  • Communicate with staff, suppliers, and third-party contractors to set up systems and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot system and network issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage the ticketing system and provide user support.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Install and maintain group-wide systems and software applications.
  • Diagnose and solve hardware and software faults.
  • Maintain information security policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Proactively perform maintenance tasks and report incidents.
  • Manage web domains, administrative tasks, and DNS management.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Professional disposition with high ethical standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Hyper-V server management, Windows Server 2012 R2, PABX systems (SIP), Office 365 platform, Fortinet, Unifi, Aruba network devices.
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are a plus.
  • Experience in MySQL/MSSQL database administration considered an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of information security practices, policies, and regulations.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools.
  • Two to three years of experience in a similar role.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to work.
