Job Overview

We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Accountant to join our team in Gozo. As an Accountant, you will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, providing exceptional services and maintaining strong long-term relationships. In addition to accounting and audit responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to work on VAT and tax returns.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Perform accounting duties, including bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Conduct audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit VAT and tax returns accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist clients with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to clients on various matters.
  • Keep abreast of changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified in ACCA or possess an Accounting Degree from the University of Malta.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an accounting or auditing firm.
  • Management experience will be considered an asset, but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in English and Maltese, both written and verbal.
  • Strong knowledge of GAPS and IFRS procedures.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
