Job Overview

We are looking for a GENERAL MANAGER to lead our multi-cultural team towards success and growth of the business.

General manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies.  To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits are on the rise.

Ultimately you will help our company to achieve its goal to always deliver the right solution to our customers.  You will also directly participate in its growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations.
  • Design strategy and set goals for business growth.
  • Manage and maintain budgets and optimize expenses.
  • Set/improve policies and processes for better productivity.
  • Developing key performance goals and managing the performance of employees.
  • Ensure the employees’ development.
  • Oversee recruitment and training of new employees.
  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance.
  • Prepare regular reports for
  • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors).
  • Ensuring that departments or units deliver quality offerings to clients.
  • Developing new solutions to meet today’s client needs.

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role of not less than five years.
  • Experience in planning and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.).
  • Keen strategic thinking and planning.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Understanding of budget management and financial monitoring.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivating, training and mentorship
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organisation and time management.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced or high-pressured environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction and waste management industry.
  • BSc/BA in Business or relevant field; MBA will be considered an asset.
