Job Overview

Are you an experienced DevOps engineer with a flair for software development? Our client is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their team to support a number of business-critical applications in a heterogenous technically challenging environment. What is expected of you?

  • Server installation, maintenance and configuration of both Windows and Linux systems
  • Resolving technical issues through diligent research, reproduction and troubleshooting
  • Administration of non-cloud / legacy systems, and migration to cloud setups
  • Assist development teams in planning and delivering software releases
  • Responsible for deployments and automation
  • Continuous improvement of monitoring, scalability, reliability and availability
  • Maintain documentation of operational details and procedures
  • Develop and implement software systems and applications
  • Analyse current systems and create, test, implement, maintain and document programs through knowledge of the system-development cycle;
  • Responsible to track all work in the company ticketing system and to log all work effort against these tickets. To ensure that all tickets are clear, concise and accurate;
  • Ensure that software solutions are written using clean and well commented code using the latest technologies possible in the situation;
  • Responsible for the preparation of UAT, test cases and training material;
  • Ensure that systems are well documented for IT operations to be able to deliver first and second and third level support.

 

What are you expected to bring?

  • In depth knowledge of Linux and Windows servers with relevant hands-on experience
  • Solid knowledge of and administration experience with web technologies
  • Experience with virtualization environments
  • Experience with databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, Informix, PostgreSQL,  MongoDB
  • Experience in shell scripting
  • Knowledge and experience in ASP.NET MVC, JQuery / JavaScript, C#, Rest APIs using .Net Core and .Net Framework, Entity Framework Core using a code first approach, Automapper, Blazor, Jquery,
  • Experience with DevOps tools, containers, messaging queues
  • Industry certification in Linux and Windows Administration courses
  • Industry certification in Database Administration courses
  • Experience in using monitoring tools
  • Understanding of application and network security principles
  • Good command of spoken English, written and communication skills
